1. Does the business have a link to agriculture? This is paramount.
2. Is there a benefit to the Canadian agricultural sector?
3. Is there some form of uniqueness to the product, technology or service?
4. Does the business address a global and large market? To this end, could the business be a $50 million business or greater if it is successful?
5. Is there a quick-to-market capability?
6. Is there an obvious application with strong business traits? In other words, is there a market for the technology or science?
7. Is there sound leadership (the entrepreneur or management team)?
